Over 75 years of history

Schioppa is the only wheel and caster manufacturer in the world to be licensed by Disney, demonstrating its ability to deliver high quality and international standards. It also hired BMW Designworks USA — BMW’s design office — to develop its line of specialized casters for hospital beds.

Founded in 1950 by Italian immigrant Mario Schioppa, Schioppa began its work by seeking opportunities in the wheel and caster replacement market. After the untimely death of its founder, the second generation took over the leadership at a young age, embarking on a decade of learning, improvement, and great challenges. In 1986, the decision was made to open a rubber recycling and vulcanization plant in Extrema (Minas Gerais), diversifying the company's supply capabilities.

The 1990s were transformative, a time when Schioppa developed new product lines and made early bets on market trends. This proactive and optimistic approach, coupled with a “can-do” attitude, ensured customer loyalty and promoted expansion into other South American countries.

The new millennium ushered in an era of recognition strengthened by ISO 9001 certification. Leadership in Brazil was consolidated and the focus on international markets intensified, culminating in the establishment of Schioppa North America in 2009. To further promote innovation and quality, a new 2,400 m² stamping facility was inaugurated in 2012, followed by a new 1,000 m² polyurethane plant in 2021.

Today, Schioppa has a Distribution Center in São Paulo with over 1,450 m² of floor space, stocking its fastest-moving items to provide fast delivery to its customers through the Schioppa Express program. The main plant has expanded to 8,000 m², and together with the branch areas, totals an area of 15,000 m².
